Wood

At Albaplus we consider environmental issues extremely important to ensure a future for present-day generations, but also for those who will follow us. That’s why we design our wood products to limit rejects and waste as much as possible. We use top quality wood selected from the best on the market, because we want our products to appeal and keep their characteristics intact over time. The paints we use are water- based and the adhesives are eco-compatible, with low formaldehyde emissions. The quality of our products can be seen particularly in the species chosen from the vast number available in nature, including solid and veneer ash and oak and plywood. Solid ash is a robust wood with straight bres and irregular, visible grain. It is ideal for coloured painting because it does not affect the colour, which produces a lively, bright effect. We use solid ash for our Socks chairs, the Stabi stool and the legs for the Mitt table. Solid oak is a robust wood with straight bres and irregular, visible grain, ideal for our Latius table and available in several colours. Ash veneer is made by overlaying layers of ash cut at right angles to create regular grain. It is used for our Ecrì chairs and the curved parts of our Natus sofa. Oak veneer is made by overlaying layers of oak cut at right angles to create regular grain. We use oak veneer for our Ember and Man chairs, Tallò stool and the tops for Latius and Mitt tables. The cores of all our products are in plywood made by overlaying sheets of wood glued together crosswise to form a structure with alternating grain that provides maximum strength.
